Manicuring/Nail Technology
The Cosmetology, Manicuring and Instructor curriculums are designed to provide competency-based Mainicuring Nail Technologyknowledge and hands-on training through theory instruction and a simulated salon and school environment. Each curriculum is designed to give the student the skills necessary to transition easily from the school environment into the work field. Upon completion of the required courses and the requirements of the NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts, graduates are qualified to apply to be tested and licensed by the board.

In the United States alone, there are over 250,000 professional salons, which employ more than 1 million active cosmetologists. The cosmetology departments at the various campuses of Vance-Granville Community College provide direct links to many professional salons. These salons offer many career opportunities for the licensed graduate including salon management and ownership opportunities.
