Program Overview

In the program you will learn how companies manage order fulfillment, purchase raw materials, manage warehouses, and arrange domestic and international transportation services. You will also learn about freight forwarders, shippers, supply chain collaboration, importing, exporting, third party logistics, and logistics technology.

Graduates should qualify for positions in a wide range of government agencies, manufacturing, and service organizations. Employment opportunities include entry-level purchasing, material management, warehousing, inventory, transportation coordinators, and logistics analysts.

The GLT program teaches students the advanced technical skills needed to ship, track and receive goods in the international logistics world. VGCC offers an A.A.S. Degree and several Certificates from the global logistics curriculum. GLT Students represent a variety of companies to include Ship on Site, Flextronics, B/S/H, Pacific Coast Feathers, Talecris, Revlon, Volvo, and many others.
