The Nature of America Web site contains materials that support the course by the same name (HUM 121). It contains discussions of course topics, pictures, and links to many sites that explore American history and culture. Check out the women's history links. The site is open and browsers are welcome.

The Harlem Renaissance site was created to support the American history and African American history courses. It is used as an assignment in these classes. It contains a brief overview of the Harlem Renaissance, study questions, and a number of links to sites focusing on the Harlem Renaissance. The art and music links are especially good. The site is open and browsers are welcome.

Migration and the American South is a Web site that explores the migrations into and out of the South. It examines in detail three North Carolina Counties--Vance, Granville, and Warren--to help students better understand why people migrate and the impact of migration on places people leave and places people migrate to. The site is intended to serve as an assignment in American history II college classes although others may find the data and interviews useful and interesting. The site was developed with the assistance of a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Religious Studies is a Web site that provides a wide range of materials that explore every aspect of religion. Included on the site are a variety of essays on different topics in religion, links to religious studies Web sites, and support materials and syllabi for the three religion courses offered at Vance-Granville (World Religions, Old Testament, and New Testament).

Education and the Communityis a new Web site that is in the early development phase. The site will explore the history of public education in the four-county area served by Vance-Granville and will be built around student projects in history, humanities, and education classes.

Southern Culture is a site that is a complete Web course (HUM 122) that is offered each fall and spring semester. You will find several hundred pages of text, over 100 links to other sites with a Southern theme, and a number of pictures. The site is open and anyone interested in Southern history and culture is welcome to browse.
